Guizhou Industrial Polytechnic College is a public higher vocational and technical college approved and filed by the Ministry of Education, which belongs to the Guizhou Education Department.
The predecessor of the Institute was Guizhou Chemical Engineering School, founded in 1958. In 2002, it was approved by the provincial government and upgraded to a higher vocational college independently, named "Guizhou Vocational College of Science and Technology Engineering"; in 2009, it was renamed Guizhou Industrial Vocational College; in 2009, it was identified as the first "provincial demonstration vocational college" by Guizhou Education Department.
At present, the college has more than 13,000 students, more than 500 teachers, 93 senior professional and technical positions (including 8 professors), 133 doctoral and master's degrees, 248 double-qualified teachers, and 1 provincial management expert.
Full-time education in secondary vocational and higher vocational schools is carried out in the institute, which consists of chemical and material engineering institute, urban construction institute, mechanical and electrical engineering institute, electronic and Information Engineering institute, Economic Management Institute and Guizhou chemical engineering school (technical secondary school). The College has more than 80 professional laboratories, including 3 national training bases and 2 provincial open training bases (analytical and testing technology open training bases and modern industrial production technology open training bases); the College has the 44th National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute in Guizhou Province, with a variety of vocational skills training and appraisal qualifications.
