The Business College of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics was established with the consent of Guizhou Education Department in 2001, approved by Guizhou Provincial People's Government and confirmed by the Ministry of Education in 2004. In 2011, the Office of Guizhou Provincial Compilation Committee approved the establishment of an independent college for undergraduate education with legal personality and permission to run a school. The College now has finance, international economy and trade, finance, insurance, economic statistics, business management, marketing, logistics management, human resources management, accounting, financial management, auditing, engineering management, real estate development and management, labor and social security, administration, tourism management, land resources management, computer science and technology, information. There are 24 undergraduate majors in Management and Information System, Electronic Commerce, Law, Chinese Language and Literature, Music and other disciplines, covering seven disciplines such as Economics, Management, Science, Engineering, Literature, Law and Art. At present, there are more than 10,000 students in the school. There are more than 500 full-time teachers with relatively stable titles, of which 50% are Vice-Senior or above.
Guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Important Thought of "Three Represents", the College thoroughly implements the scientific concept of development, establishes a sense of service based on students and takes quality education as the core, and strives to build the Business College of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics into an independent teaching college with influential features in the west, first-class in the province, distinctive features in economic management and outstanding advantages in business. The college takes undergraduate education as the center, runs the school according to law, follows the law of education, faces the social needs, optimizes the structure layout, improves the teaching quality, strengthens the practical teaching, and establishes the practice and experimental teaching system that meets the training objectives of various specialties; scientifically sets up the courses of improving ability, comprehensive quality and specialized elective courses, so as to provide students with diversified choices and cultivate specialties in various directions. We have actively explored the hierarchical teaching model, and from 2008 to 2012, we have set up experimental classes in accounting and finance, which have achieved good teaching results. The college has always attached great importance to the ideological and political education of College students, strived to promote the construction of campus culture and carry out activities of college students'associations, and actively engaged in volunteer service and social welfare work. In 2004, the General Party Branch of Business College was awarded the title of "Advanced Party Branch of Universities in Guizhou Province" by the Committee of Higher Education and Labor. In 2009, the League Committee of Business College was designated as a pilot unit of grass-roots organization construction and grass-roots work by the Central Committee of the League, and became the only university in Guizhou Province to win this honor.
