In the 20 years of the Republic of China (1931), Bijie County Junior High School was founded.
In the twenty-seventh year of the Republic of China (1938), Bijie County Junior High School was renamed Bijie Normal School in Guizhou Province.
In 1950, Guizhou Libijie Normal School was renamed Bijie Normal School.
In 1958, Bijie Teachers College was established (co-ordinated).
In 1961, Bijie Normal School for Nationalities in Guizhou Province was merged into Bijie Normal School.
In 1953, Guiyang Normal School for Nationalities was established.
In 1958, Guiyang Normal School for Nationalities was renamed Bijie Normal School for Nationalities in Guizhou Province.
In 1962, Bijie Teachers'College was rebuilt into Bijie Middle School Teachers' Further Education School.
In 1975, Bijie Normal School was upgraded to May 7 Normal University in Bijie District.
In 1978, the May 7th Normal University in Bijie District was rebuilt into Guiyang Normal College (Bijie College).
In 1981, Guiyang Normal University (Bijie College) was upgraded to Bijie Normal College.
In 1993, Bijie Teachers College was renamed Bijie Teachers College.
In 1980, Bijie No. 3 Middle School was renamed Bijie Normal School in Guizhou Province.
In 2005, Bijie Teachers'College, Bijie Education College and Bijie Teachers' School were merged and upgraded to Bijie College.
In 2012, the Ministry of Education decided to increase the counterpart support of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) to Bijie College.
On May 23, 2014, Bijie College was renamed Guizhou Institute of Engineering Application Technology.
