玉林师范学院坐落在著名的语言学家王力的故乡、中国优秀旅游城市、广西东南部的千年古城玉林市,占地面积1746亩,是广西壮族自治区直属全日制普通本科高校。
学校创办于1945年,原名广西省立鬰林师范学校,1952年春改名为玉林师范学校,1958年升格为广西玉林专区师范专科学校,开始招收高等教育层次的专科生。1962年更名为玉林专区师范学校。1978年经国务院批准恢复玉林师范专科学校。1994年更名为玉林师范高等专科学校。2000年,经教育部批准,玉林师范高等专科学校、玉林市教育学院、玉林市高等职业技术学院、广西广播电视大学玉林分校,合并升格为玉林师范学院。2007年以优异的成绩顺利通过教育部本科教学工作水平评估。2013年被列为广西新增硕士学位授予单位立项建设项目单位,2014年被列为广西新增硕士专业学位授予单位立项建设项目单位。同年,开始与陕西师范大学、广西师范大学联合培养教育硕士研究生。2015年成为自治区首批综合改革试点院校与整体转型试点院校。2016年成为广西应用型本科高校联盟理事长单位,入选教育部数据中国“百校工程”合作院校。学校成立后,实现了由资源整合、力量聚集到快速发展的转变,现已发展成为一所含本科教育、高等职业技术教育、成人高等教育和留学生教育,具有教师教育特色的综合性本科院校。
学校设有17个二级学院,学科涵盖了经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、农学、艺术学等10大学科门类 ,有59个普通本科专业。学校面向全国25个省(市、自治区)及东南亚国家招生,现有全日制在校生17542人,另招有一定数量的成高生,联合培养在校研究生101人(与陕西师范大学、广西师范大学等高校联合培养)。
学校秉承“以德为先,艰苦奋斗”的优良传统,始终坚持面向农村基层培养基础教育师资,已经形成了以师德教育为核心,以能力培养为重点,以多媒体网络环境为支撑的基础教育优质师资和应用型人才培养体系,为地方基础教育和经济社会发展培养了10万多“下得去,留得住,有作为”的义务教育师资和应用型高级专门人才。
学校现有教职工1123人,其中专任教师741人,正高职称87人,具有博士学位120人、硕士学位540人,具有博士、硕士研究生导师资格70人,享受国务院政府特殊津贴2人,全国教育系统先进工作者1人,全国优秀教师1人。获评自治区级各类教学与科研创新团队10个,获评厅级以上各类人才及各类培养骨干人选共170余人次。
学校育人成绩显著,先后获评为广西高校师范专业办学能力提升计划项目首批示范性教师教育基地、广西21世纪园丁工程B类教师培训基地、广西第一批初中教师教育基地、广西第一批幼儿园教师教育基地、广西小学教师教育基地、广西高校“大学生创业教育示范基地”,获得广西实验实训教学示范中心2个,广西虚拟仿真实验中心1个。区级优秀教学团队4个, 学校年均就业率均保持在90%以上,连续六年荣获“全区普通高等学校就业工作先进集体”,2016年获“全区普通高校毕业生就业创业工作突出单位”荣誉称号。

Yulin Normal College is located in the hometown of Wang Li, a famous linguist, an excellent tourist city in China, and Yulin, a thousand-year-old city in southeastern Guangxi, covering an area of 1746 mu. It is a full-time undergraduate college directly under the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The school was founded in 1945, formerly known as Yulin Normal School of Guangxi Provincial Government. It was renamed Yulin Normal School in the spring of 1952 and upgraded to Yulin Normal College of Guangxi in 1958. It began to recruit students of higher education. In 1962, it was renamed Yulin Normal School. In 1978, Yulin Teachers College was restored with the approval of the State Council. In 1994, it was renamed Yulin Teachers College. In 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Yulin Teachers'College, Yulin Education College, Yulin Higher Vocational and Technical College and Yulin Branch of Guangxi Radio and Television University were merged and upgraded to Yulin Teachers' College. In 2007, it passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education smoothly with excellent results. In 2013, it was listed as the construction project unit of the newly added Master Degree Granting Unit in Guangxi, and in 2014, it was listed as the construction project unit of the newly added Master Degree Granting Unit in Guangxi. In the same year, we began to train Master of Education postgraduates jointly with Shaanxi Normal University and Guangxi Normal University. In 2015, it became the first pilot universities of comprehensive reform and overall transformation in the autonomous region. In 2016, it became the director unit of Guangxi Applied Undergraduate University Alliance, and was selected as the cooperative University of "100 Schools Project" in China according to the Ministry of Education. After the establishment of the school, it has realized the transformation from resource integration, power gathering to rapid development. It has now developed into a comprehensive undergraduate college with the characteristics of teacher education, including undergraduate education, higher vocational and technical education, adult higher education and foreign student education.
The school has 17 secondary colleges, covering economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, management, agriculture, art and other 10 University disciplines, with 59 general undergraduate majors. The school enrolls students from 25 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) and Southeast Asian countries. There are 17 542 full-time students in the school, and a certain number of adult students are recruited. 101 graduate students are jointly trained (jointly trained with Shaanxi Normal University, Guangxi Normal University and other universities).
Adhering to the fine tradition of "putting morality first and striving hard", the school has always adhered to the cultivation of basic education teachers at the grass-roots level in rural areas. It has formed a training system of high-quality teachers and applied talents in basic education, which takes teacher's ethics education as the core, ability training as the focus, and multimedia network environment as the support. It has trained more than 100,000 teachers for local basic education and economic and social development. Teachers of compulsory education and high-level applied professionals who can go, stay and do well.
There are 1123 teachers and staff in the school, including 741 full-time teachers, 87 full-time titles, 120 doctorates and 540 master's degrees, 70 doctoral and master's supervisors, 2 special allowances from the State Council, 1 advanced worker in the national education system and 1 excellent teacher in the country. Ten teaching and scientific research innovation teams at the autonomous region level were evaluated, and more than 170 talents and backbone candidates were evaluated at or above the hall level.
The school has made remarkable achievements in educating people, and has been awarded the first demonstration teacher education base of the project of improving the ability of running a school for normal specialty in Guangxi colleges and universities, the second class B teacher training base of gardener project in the 21st century in Guangxi, the first batch of junior middle school teacher education base in Guangxi, the first batch of kindergarten teacher education base in Guangxi, the primary school teacher education base in Guangxi, and the "demonstration base of entrepreneurship education for college students" in Two demonstration centers of experimental training and teaching in Guangxi and one virtual simulation experiment center in Guangxi were obtained. Four excellent teaching teams at the district level have maintained an average annual employment rate of more than 90%. They have been awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Collective of Employment Work in Colleges and Universities of the Region" for six consecutive years and "Outstanding Unit of Employment and Entrepreneurship Work for Graduates of Colleges and Universities of the Region" in 2016.
