Guizhou University for Nationalities was founded on May 17, 1951. It belongs to the People's Government of Guizhou Province. It is one of the earliest national colleges and universities established in New China. It is also a key construction university in Guizhou Province, a joint construction university by the People's Government of Guizhou Province and the National People's Committee, a university with excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of Education, and a university that receives scholarships from the Chinese Government for overseas students. The school has two campuses. Huaxi Campus is located in Huaxi District, Guiyang City, a scenic spot with beautiful mountains and rivers and known as the "Pearl of the Plateau". The University City Campus is located in Gui'an New District, which integrates innovation and demonstrates ecological civilization.
